Welcome to the Office of the Associate Dean. Our primary goal and responsibility is to assist undergraduate students plan and navigate their programs of study. We are here to provide you with information and assistance so you can make informed decisions about your programs, your courses, and other aspects of your undergraduate education here at McMaster. We can help you with questions like: What programs are available to me? How do I meet university requirements? What do I do if I can’t complete the work for a course? How do I calculate my GPA? Can I study at another university for credit at McMaster? Our office is here to help you attend to the details of your undergraduate program without losing sight of the overall academic requirements and your own academic goals. We are here to help you to achieve your academic goals and to support and enhance your undergraduate experience at McMaster.

Our academic advisors can assist you with the following:

course requirements and changes
program selection, application and changes
study elsewhere including McMaster Exchanges and Letters of Permission
petitions for missed term work and deferred examinations
petitions for special consideration of all kinds
appeals procedures
referral to other services on campus

In addition, the Staff of the Office of the Associate Dean is available to help you adjust to study within the University and Faculty.

PLEASE NOTE: The Office of the Associate Dean is currently open, however, academic advising will not be available until Monday, June 3rd.

Academic advising is available as follows: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday:
9:30am - 11:30am by appointment

Drop-in advising:
Monday through Thursday:
1:00pm - 3:30pm

Friday: 1:00pm - 3:30pm by appointment only.

The office is closed daily from 12 - 1pm.
