The second annual Research on Teaching and Learning: Integrating Practices conference will take place at McMaster University on December 7 and 8, 2011. This year, the event has expanded to two days with the addition of workshops, a plenary speaker, and - as always - lots of opportunities for faculty, staff and students to share in research on teaching and learning in higher education.
The first day of the conference will feature workshops on a range of teaching and learning research topics, as well as an opening plenary by Geoff Norman, Canada Research Chair in Cognitive Dimensions of Clinical Expertise and assistant dean of the Programme for Educational Research and Development (PERD) at McMaster.
The program for the second day will consist of long and short papers, poster presentations, and an address by our distinguished keynote speaker: K. Lynn Taylor, director of the Centre for Learning & Teaching at Dalhousie University and past vice- president, scholarship of teaching and learning of the Society for Teaching & Learning in Higher Education (STLHE). Conference tracks include teaching with technology, conducting and assessing the scholarship of teaching and learning, collaborative teaching methods and more.
Research on Teaching and Learning: Integrating Practices is hosted by the Centre for Leadership in Learning (CLL). Registration is now open on the conference website. Register before November 11, 2011 and receive a discount of 20 per cent off the regular registration rates.
