With our ailing economy, high unemployment and growing poverty, there is an even more desperate need this year for donations. Hamilton Food Share's Recovery program raises $5 dollars worth of food for every $1 you donate! Your financial donations go in part to the food recovery program (healthy and good product deemed surplus and un-salable by food industry standards) and in bulk purchasing of food that is desperately needed now. Your contribution will also assist in connecting with local farmers in an exciting new program called "Hamilton Harvest". This program works with local area farmers and provides fresh, healthy foods to food banks and hot meal programs. For more information on Hamilton Food Share and Hamilton Harvest, please visit: http://www.hamiltonfoodshare.org/
As in past years, to make it more equitable, departments and schools are allowed to join forces with one another and have their totals combined. To ease the administrative load, items (non-perishable, toiletry, cash/cheques) will be counted and not prorated or weighed. Please make cheques payable to Hamilton Food Share. Donations of $10 or more will receive a tax receipt. Please provide your full name and address if you wish for a tax receipt.
